If by some strange chance, you
stumbled upon here with no
knowledge of Magna Arnott
Photography, let me introduce
myself. Hi, I’m Magna, owner
and lead photographer of MAP,
and I have a passion to connect
with businesses and fellow
creatives and help them to better
connect to those around them,
themselves, and with their
purpose. Which is why I started
the Creative Connect to do just
that. Now, before you begin to discredit yourself as a creative or try to explain how ‘you’re hardly a business owner’ or ‘it’s more of a hobby’ – this is 100% for you too!
I whole-heartedly believe in community over competition, and that we are truly BETTER TOGETHER. There’s always a seat at the table whether you have 20 years of experience, 5 years of experience, or you’re starting out, we grow best when there’s room to ask questions and gleen from others’ experiences, perspectives, and wisdom. That’s how I started, my girl, Samantha Erin, ran a photography group for girls interested in photography, which later turned into an internship/mentorship/working for her kind of a thing. Her knowledge and willingness to share her knowledge in both photography and business shaped me (and MAP) to what we are today. She taught me to be wise, but also to be kind and help those around me. I also recognize in myself that I need community and so I’ve made one!
What’s the catch? There is none. The only cost is what drink you decide to order and/or parking as we sometimes go on a photo-walk. I host 1-2 Creative Connect meet-ups a month to chat all things business, marketing, and to share in the struggles of being a ‘creative’ and business owner. It gives space to do be encouraged, to do life with people who can relate, and to be inspired with fresh perspective.

Creatives, hobbyists, or entrepreneurs, who are looking to grow in their craft, connect with local businesses, and to find a community to share and learn from!
We believe in community over competition. We value authenticity and kindness, and we respect each others' ideas and experiences!
"Going to Creative Connect was just what I needed when starting my photography business. Not only was being able to ask and receive advice from Magna about how she handles different aspects of her business very helpful, it was also great to meet other people in the creative field. I learned that I'm not not the only one who has their ups and downs when starting a business, and that we need connection with other people going through similar journeys as us! Check out CC to not just learn new tings, but also to connect with amazing people who will inspire you!

"I haven’t been in the Photography scene for very long, only a few years, and definitely haven’t been connected to many local photographers. Instagram has been a tremendous asset for connecting to Photographers and being aware of local meetups, which is where I discovered Creative Connect. I wanted to be part of a community where learning new techniques, getting to know up-and-coming photographers, and especially a space where everyone involved can grow together. That last point is the most important, and I felt that desired warm welcome at Creative Connect.
Creative Connect has challenged me to get out of my comfort zone. I feel as a new photographer that doesn’t do it professionally I should be comfortable with photographing any type of subject but I’m also an introvert that doesn’t enjoy telling people what to do and that reality drastically deters me from doing portraiture work. When I was at one of the Creative Connect meetups I was given the opportunity to practice some portraiture."
