~ twenty-fifteen ~
It’s unbelievable how quickly this year went by. This year has been filled with an abundance of new opportunities and many changes. A few of those highlights would be our new logo, website, and widening our areas of service. Some of those areas include — commercial, newborn, maternity, and one of my personal favourites, band/concert photography. One of the reasons I love photography is that it’s never stagnant. There is always something new to learn or improvements to be made throughout this field. I’m constantly learning and experimenting with new ideas on how to better capture life authentically.
This year alone, I had the pleasure of capturing many of my dearest friends’ big moments: from childhood friends getting engaged as well as married, to other’s having children. I’ve also been blessed with working with wonderful new clients as well as returning clients. It’s always a grand honour to capture your special moments. That being said, I am very grateful to every client who has partnered with me this year. I’d like to thank each and every one of one who continue to further help turn this business from a dream into a reality.

“gracefully capturing authenticity”
You may have seen the above quote on our website’s home page. Although it sounds cute (or at least I think so), it’s more then just a phrase. As our website was in the process of being built, my designer asked me for a quote to put on the front page — something that related into what Magna Arnott Photography stands for, or at the very least something that sounds dreamy. I researched every photography quote Pinterest and Google offered, but nothing seemed to reflect this business. None of the quotes or phrases seemed to portray who I am or what my business stands for; it didn’t feel authentic. Every phrase I found was someone else’s, it wasn’t me. As radical as it may sound, I asked the good Lord for help. I searched the Bible for a verse and even my journal for something that was significant, yet nothing leaped out at me. One morning, I woke up from a dream with those three words heavy on my heart.
That’s what Magna Arnott Photography is all about — capturing life in a graceful and authentic way. As much as some images may be posed or have been positioned a certain way, my goal is to capture you. I love candids; the way one’s hair naturally falls in their face as they turn their head, or the way a groom peaks a side-ways glance at his stunning bride, the way a newborn reaches for their mother’s touch. My goal at any event I capture, is to give enough direction to make my clients feel at peace and comfortable, while also fading into the background just enough for my clients to forget there’s a camera in the room. So cheer’s to a year that has been filled with many changes and I cannot wait to see what new opportunities await in 2016.
Dear friends and clients reading this,
I wish you all a wonderful, blessed Happy New Year.
