Happy Friday!
How in the world are we going into Labour Day weekend? This has been the longest year with the shortest summer, or at least it feels that way for me. Anyway, moving into today’s heart-warming, downtown Collingwood Anniversary session with Bonnie and Greg. You may have seen my preview post with these two kind-souls, but I’ll reshare the background just in case you missed it.
Bonnie had reached out in hopes of booking a last minute surprise anniversary session for her and her guy Greg, which is a fairly normal inquiry I receive. Except, their wedding anniversary hadn’t happened as planned. Like many couples this year, Covid-19 had put a wrench in their plans, and ultimately they decided to wait until next year to officially get married. Nonetheless, both Bonnie and Greg wanted to celebrate their original date together. Bonnie They had planned a nice dinner out, shared their vows together, and celebrated their date, but little did Greg know that Bonnie had a surprise photo session planned after dinner.
I waited in our planned spot, and when I got the go-ahead, I walked up and introduced myself as their photographer for the evening, Greg’s response was what every woman hopes for, excited and pleasantly surprised. We continued our night by exploring one of my favourite Collingwood spots along the shoreline. At one point, I found a clearing on the boardwalk without any cyclists, and decided to use some detective skills to find out what their first dance song would have been. Once given the information (which if you’re curious, they quickly decided upon, “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” by the Beach Boys), I set them up in a slow dance pose, pressed play on my phone, and stepped back to give them the first dance they should have had that day. I captured a few photos, but mainly stepped into the bush (literally), to let two people in love have their moment to bask in the joy of knowing their official day was coming, but this too was a special day.
We finished the night exploring the downtown core of Collingwood, and it truly was a heart-warming session that I certainly won’t forget.
Have a great long weekend, friends,
Magna
