Some weddings feel extra special—not just because of the love between two people, but because of the meaning woven into every detail. Laura and Thomas’s intimate wedding in Elmvale was one of those days.
They chose to get married on her dad’s property, a place filled with years of family memories. For Laura, it wasn’t just a backdrop—it was home. Every corner of the property carried stories from her childhood, making it the perfect spot to begin a new chapter with Thomas.
The day was beautifully simple, full of laughter, happy tears, and those quiet in-between moments that really tell the story of a wedding. I photographed in my favourite way—documentary style—so nothing felt staged or stiff. Instead, the focus was on capturing real emotions as they unfolded: Laura’s dad seeing her in her dress, Thomas’s smile as she walked toward him, and the way friends and family gathered close to celebrate.
Of course, we can’t talk about this wedding without mentioning the real star of the day: their sweet pup, Henry. Henry stole the show (and my camera roll). He trotted in and out of photos, adding the perfect dose of personality to an already heartfelt celebration.
What made Laura and Thomas’s wedding so unforgettable wasn’t extravagant details—it was intimacy, authenticity, and love. It was about celebrating in a place that mattered, surrounded by people (and a pup!) who matter most.
Elmvale weddings like this are why I love what I do. Being able to capture the raw, meaningful moments for couples in locations that feel like home is such a gift.
