Lifestyle sessions are just the sweetest. Catching up with old friends is also sweet.
Having the two combined in one is definitely a great day.
This past weekend, I took some students on a youth retreat up north, and I could write a blog simply on the wonderful things from that. However, I’ll only share one little note of encouragement on here.
As I looked around the room during the retreat opener, I was so strongly reminded that God knew 5 years ago that I would be here. He knew I’d be standing physically in that exact location, but more than that, He knew I’d be at the same retreat no longer as a student, or volunteer leader, but instead as a youth pastor. He knew that the moment I entered into this world, He knew it 5 years ago as I stood worshipping Him on the same retreat, and He certainly was smiling knowing this was His plan all along.
Magna, what does that have to with anything related to photography and more specifically this blog… So glad you asked. See, as I looked around the room that Friday night, I saw many friends and fellow leaders, who I grew up going to youth group with, and also went on this same retreat with. God also knew that we’d ALL be here together in multiple different capacities, leading the next generation closer to Jesus. All that to say, Beckah (the mom in this session) and I also grew up together going to the same group and church. So, as I photographed her sweet baby girl, I was again reminded that God had this plan all along. He knew 10 years ago we’d be here. He knew our paths would bump into each other, even if was only brief, during a photo session.
Sure, sometimes there’s pain and heartache, but if we continue to press in and lean closer to Jesus throughout it all, His plan will always come to fruition. His ways are not our ways, but nonetheless He has a plan for our lives. This may not be the ‘usual’ blog write up you’re used to, but I want to encourage you that God knows you. He knows every intricate detail of your life. If you take a ‘detour’ on His plan for your life, trust that He knows what He’s doing and will lead you back to what your called to do. God Almighty knows you. What a phrase to dwell on and remember.
With that said, I hope you smile when you see this sweet baby girl’s smile and the joy shared in this family.
