When Mosheen inquired about a beach-side engagement proposal in Tiny, I was immediately in. He laid out his plan to propose at specific beach spot where him and his (now fiancé), Resham, had spent time away during the summer with friends. It was a special location and he managed, along with some help, to pull off this incredible surprise, to which all of the beach residents heard a resounding YES.

If you’re planning a proposal, but specifically a beach-side one, here’s a few key tips:

  1. Hire a photographer your soon-to-be fiancé doesn’t know.
    • this helps us to capture the best angles, without having to hide in a bush AND it limits suspicions from rising (any further) if it’s someone they don’t know.
  2. Hire an event coordinator or enlist some creative friends to help with set-up.
    • Just do it. You have enough on your plate in prepping for the big moment, especially if you’re walking them to the spot.
    • BONUS: you get to go celebrate rather than spending your time cleaning up the space.
  3. Select your date and/or location wisely.
    • Mosheen brilliantly selected an-off season date for this popular beach spot, which ensured they only guests were a few cottagers hanging around at the end of October.
    • Being off-season helped limit any crowds (or photo bombers) and helped keep this special moment an intimate one.
    • Just imagine if this beach was covered in speedos and bikinis… kills the romantic vibe a bit.
  4. BONUS TIP: Bring multiple outfits for your soon-to-be fiancé!
    • Yes, I want you to crush this romantic moment and keep it a surprise, but it doesn’t hurt to be prepared with multiple outfit changes for some photos after the initial proposal. If you’re planning a proposal, and need some event coordinator suggestions or need a photographer, click here to fill out a contact form to get this process started!
