Boy, oh boy, where do I begin…

I’ll be completely honest, I’m moved to tears even now as I type.

Pregnancy (or so I’m told, as I’ve yet to experience it) is one of the greatest joys in life. On the contrary, infertility is one of life’s cruellest battles that many couples face, and unfortunately some never overcome. It would be absolutely ignorant and inconsiderate if I tried to even image, let alone describe the sorrow, loss, and pain that infertility and/or miscarriage causes. As well as the toll it can take on a marriage, one’s physical body, mentally state, and one’s faith in God.

Sam + Scott have walked through many years of infertility as well as a miscarriage this past fall. I remember the heart-wrenching phone call when Sam filled me in on what was going on, asked for prayed, and asked if I could help shoot a wedding the following weekend. [ side note: you think being a wedding photographer is easy…if you can’t step aside and serve someone else on their big day, despite what kind of week you’ve had, think again]. She could have easily had someone fill in, but instead she pushed through having Scott and I as back-ups to lend a helping hand if it became too much for her. That is the kind of woman Sam is: she’s strong, devoted, unmovable, and she has a heart that loves to serve people even after a devestating loss. Every conversation I had with her, although it was evident the loss of a long awaited baby weighed heavily on her, and Scott too, they both kept their faith and remained strong. They are two of my dearest friends, as well as  inspirations in my life personally. I could write pages upon pages of how amazing this couple is — how they’ve personally helped in my life and my buisness.

Well, obviously this story has a JOYOUS turn around, as you’re reading their maternity blog. TEARS. SO MANY TEARS. I’m ECSTATIC to let ya’ll know they’re expecting a little miracle baby girl, this May. Friends, whether you’re currently fighting a similar battle, or something completely unrelated, may I encourage you to hold on to hope, as dim and far off as it may appear. If you’re a person of faith, may I remind you that God is ALWAYS good in the mountain highs or valley lows.

Enjoy their adorable boho session and leave them some love in the comments.
