These are a few of my favourite things: a warm, dreamy, autumn day photographing an engagement with our very own little mountain popping in the background off the shores of Collingwood. Due to some unfortunate circumstances and wild work schedules, we had to postpone Lauren and Klem’s engagement session twice within a month and a half, but the saying “good things come to those who wait” definitely rang true for these two. This late October evening was nothing short of perfect – warm (and for us Ontarioans, warm means being out in a t-shirt in October), the softest lighting, and a gorgeous orange sunset. So yes, waiting and rescheduling was well worth the wait.
As a little encouragement to couple’s deciding to postpone, adjust, or change their wedding plans, I hope you find that encouraging. Good things come to those who wait, and good things come to those who decide to make their day, however it may come to be, the absolute best.
Alright back to these two lovelies. Lauren is one of my dearest gal pals and probably one of the most hilarious people that I know. Every get together, even the ones where we’ve sobbed on each other’s couches in tough times, I end up laughing so much that I’m always a little surprised I don’t have a six pack when I go to leave. She has a great, big heart and loves to help those who need love the most. So naturally, when I received the text back in the summer (you know what TEXT that is – the one where we scream in excitement because our friend just said ‘I do’ and has the bling to prove it), I cried and screamed in pure joy. I met Klem for the first time during the shoot, and these two are quite the pair of witty remarks, blissful joy, and a deep love for each other.
I hope these images warm your heart as much as they do for mine! If you’re recently engaged and wondering why you should book an engagement session check out our FAQ page for some helpful answers!
